The colors are all hand painted with water colors. The grid is then burned in. The cross and framing are exposed through carving and burning techniques. The shelf is attached and has a hole for the included votive candle and glass candle holder to set in. The painted areas are gloss laquer. The edges and cross are left Satin natural.

I have noticed that all over this country lately that church buildings are selling off at a record pace not to be used as a gathering place any longer. I know this has effected people in a negative way and they may feal hopeless losing the place they worshipped and served our Savior.

I made this to relay a Peaceful and Hopeful feeling. I want it to also be a reminder that wherever 2 or more are gathered in his name, there He is with them. Matthew 18:20 which is written in Jesus’s words says to us, that as little as two people who stand in one place together in His name is a place that we can in our words, call a church. The church is not the building. The church are the people, the children of God.
