This Divine Love Floating Cross is made of solid Walnut. The inspiration for this cross came from the hymn “Love Lifted Me” written by James Rowe in 1912. I will be singing this song almost the entire time I am making this cross. It’s color comes from a custom mix of stain used on the Walnut.

Why do I call it a floating cross instead of a standing cross? I have cut a curve at the bottom to give the appearance that the cross is lifting upwards. It is finished to a beautiful and warm satin sheen.
