Matthew 7:1-2 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

When we meet someone for the first time we may try to fit them into a certain mold based on our first impressions. We can create our whole idea of a person based on a 30 second or less interaction. Then, we move on easily by classifying them as rich, poor, lazy, workaholic, democrat, Catholic, and so on! We may even try to assume how they have sinned in their life based on this impression. What’s worse is from one picture on FB we try to do this! One picture…

Making all of these assumptions based on a first impression can lead to judging. The thing is, we are all made different, but made in the likeness of our creator!

We are quick to point a finger at differences we recognize, yet when we do three of them point back at us!

Before we look at someone else to point out how different they are, let’s look at them and see how much we are alike!
Thank you Lord for making us in all shapes, sizes, and colors and so much like you!
