I’ve heard people say “It is what it is” my whole life. I always believed this was just a retort following a negative situation and it was said as a way of dismissing it. I never liked hearing it! It sounded like it was a way of giving up without a fight or accepting the situation without trying to change it for the good. Well, it took on a whole new meaning to me when I saw it in my notes to be used for an engraving. It sounds completely different with the closing words of “through God” added to it.
Those 5 words don’t seem so negative now! In fact, every situation whether negative or positive in our lives, “is what it is, through God.” I now see those words as a way of releasing something we don’t have the power to control and in turn giving it to Him.
